It’s 2012. Electronic dance music is slowly being infused with tanks of concentrated Internet 2.0 liquids, flooding powerful desktops and portable music carriers with streams of soundclouds and other 320kbps formats of audio.
Michael Locker is drifting in the tropes of the World Wide Web, making jams for cruising on the information superhighway. The device he constructs is named DJ Baglady – a machine that implants soulful vocals, dreamy pads, and semi-danceable rhythms into the eardrum. The latest result of this apparatus is Bad Habit, a smooth piece of modern day lifestyle.

Space station nightlife.
A mixture of cosmic R&B flights, aerodynamic ambient, and planetary exploration samples – it’s a trend we’ve encountered multiple times this year; think The-Drum, think Supreme Cuts. The Oakland, California based Finally Boys have taken a shot at this heliocentric system as well – and what do you know? They succeed.
The fast pacing hi-hats of Contact suggest a clubby intervention, and this is most definitely the case. By implanting melodious vocal outbursts and trance-y arpeggios, the crew takes a leap into the depths of space station nightlife . Their debut EP named Feelings carries a similar atmosphere, making it a fitting OST to a Mars to Stay mission…
Feelings is out now through Amdiscs – the Czech imprint is offering it up for free, so there’s pretty much no reason for y’all to stay on Earth.
